Posting on social media but not getting enquiries?

Social Media posting small business owners

You’ve taken the photos, written the captions and found time to post between everything else your business needs. A few likes come in, perhaps some new followers. But the enquiries you hoped for? Not so many.

It’s understandable to feel discouraged. When you put your own time and energy into something, you want to know it’s making a difference.

Before you add more posts to your schedule, let’s look at what happens between someone seeing your content and deciding to contact you.

Is it clear how you can help?

You know your business inside out. Someone visiting your profile for the first time doesn’t.

Look at your bio and recent posts through a potential customer’s eyes. Can they quickly understand what you offer, who it’s for and how it could help them?

For example, “personal consultations” describes a service. “A one-on-one session to help you decide where to focus your marketing” gives someone a clearer reason to book.

You don’t need clever wording. You need wording your customer recognizes their own situation in.

Are you helping people feel ready to contact you?

Someone can be interested and still hesitate. They might wonder what the service includes, whether it suits their budget or what happens after they enquire.

Your content can answer those questions. Explain how you work, show an example or share a customer’s experience with their permission. Think about the questions people ask before buying and make those answers easier to find.

You don’t have to sell in every post. But your content should help people understand your business and feel comfortable taking the next step.

Is the next step obvious?

“Get in touch” can work, but a more specific invitation can feel easier to act on:

“Not sure which service suits you? Send me a message and tell me what you need.”

Check the practical details, too. Does your profile link lead to the right page? Is booking procedure easy and fast? Can people easily find your contact information?

Let’s look at what needs attention

A quiet inbox doesn’t automatically mean you need to post more. Your message, your audience or the path to booking may need attention first.

Book a 1:1 marketing consultation and we’ll look at what you’re doing now, where potential customers might be getting stuck and what you can improve next.
